WHY HAS THIS PROJECT NOT BEEN COMPLETED BEFORE NOW?
When we entered Trinity Pines nearly 20 years ago, we were told to allow the road base to strengthen by driving on it. The road mix was transported from several miles away to meet the requirement to build the base. Since that time, we have added one more base to the road as it began to sink and shift with weight and use.

ISN’T PAVING ROADS EXTRAVAGANT BASED UPON OTHER NEEDS AT CAMP?
The Camps Board has spent a great amount of time evaluating this proposal. Here are some facts:
- After changing over the HVAC equipment, the techs said that the units were full of dust from the roadways.
- A similar claim was made by the techs that worked on the computer equipment during the office expansion.
- The dirt roads make snow removal more difficult than scraping a clean asphalt surface.
- Trinity Pines’ medical personnel report campers who suffer from allergies related to dust from the roads.
- Flooring techs say we are reducing life of floor coverings by the amount of dirt tracked in.
- The spring melts present a real problem for mud and slick roads for walking.
- Not being able to properly clean the roads of snow has resulted in vehicles slipping off the roads.
